Design and Implementation of Novel Fault Ride through Circuitry and Control for Grid-Connected PV System

This paper provides a comparison of designed method fault ride through (FRT) circuit, i.e., switch-type current limiter (STFCL) and bridge-type (BFCL), to optimize the electrical parameters grid-connected solar systems (PVSs) under asymmetric single line-to-ground symmetric three-phase fault. The main differences between switch- limiters is electric component devices such as bridge rectifier, snubber capacitor, energy absorption bypass current-limiting inductors. In addition, FRT performance with inverter control are analyzed in-depth, e.g., well-adjusted proportional integral (PI) proposed steepest descent (SD) controller compared in condition. To compare conventional method, AC power voltage on common coupling point (PCC) DC link PV system MATLAB/Simulink model 100 kW photovoltaic system. simulation results circuit SD verify stability improvement vibration-free fast robust responses both grid sides during disturbances.
